Guarantee the Erentzun Basque-language school project

The Erentzun Basque-language school (ikastola) was founded in 1978. At that time, a group of parents from Viana and the surrounding area decided to embark on the venture with 12 children. The school now has 98 pupils aged from 1 to 12.

This is not a small Basque-language school which is currently going through a delicate patch and, therefore, needs to guarantee a sufficient number of future registrations, as the posts of neither teaching nor non-teaching staff can at present be considered safe.


In view of the imminent demographic boom in the area and the potential of Logroño, the Erentzun Basque-language school (ikastola) has implemented a range of strategic actions aimed at attracting a minimum number of pupils per age group.

- To improve the educational quality available at the centre
- To provide large, modern facilities
- In addition to educational quality, to offer other competitive, quality services: crèche, dining-room, transport, etc.
